Margaret River Community Centre offers the Staying in Place Aged Care and Community Service for residents from Cowaramup to Forest Grove. In conjunction with this, every Tuesday we welcome locals to drop in to the Community Centre for Seniors: open from 10am until 12, a free morning tea is available while you have a chat and meet new people. The 4th Tuesday of the month will be a guest presentation on topics of interest identified by attendees.
The Staying in Place Coordinator can tailor personalised support designed to assist older people to maintain a healthy, safe, and independent life at home for as long as possible.
Staying in Place functions as a 3-way agreement between the Community Centre, licenced aged care service provider InCasa, and support worker platform Mable. The program is supported by the Department of Health and Ageing as an alternative service model that utilises local community knowledge and skills for coordination, management, and services, also offering income opportunities for local people to deliver supports.
